OVERVIEW
- Why are we studying Satan?
- We are trying to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead. Satan is determined to stop that goal. In the parable of the sower Jesus says, “the evil one comes and snatches away the seed that was planted in their hearts,” (Matthew 13:18). As leaders, need to know our enemy so we can move toward victory.
- Sometimes we think people are our enemies. This is not the case. Our fight is against spiritual strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:3-6). We need learn how to fight spiritual battles in a spiritual way.
- We want to increase the sense of urgency for our whole COYFC team to share the gospel. Satan is committed to opposing this.
What is the big picture of the series?
- We are in the midst of a spiritual war but God is in control. He will win. In Christ, he has given us authority and a battle plan to fight.
- We are either fighting or we are a victim. There is no middle ground. Let’s fight to win!
